We attended a benefit that was held for her out at the Oplin Community Center last weekend, in hopes to gain financial support for medical bills for this amazing family.
The turnout was outstanding...they raised over $35,000! What a blessing to take away a bit of their worries for the moment. The reality of what they must be going through is heartwrenching. Wendy, Jinger's mom, also has Jake-age 4 1/2 (he was our ring bearer) and is expecting their 3rd child at any moment-Due Date is around Christmas.
After leaving the benefit, Kelby & I could not quit talking about how full of faith the Gerngross family is, how close they are to others in their community, and how wonderful to know that God is in charge, He answers prayers, and will lead you through difficult times, as long as you trust in Him.
I can't help but shed tears as I add pictures of Kanyon all dressed up after returning home from Oplin, as I look at my healthy, chunky little man and feel extremely blessed, reminding myself that we should not take anything for granted.
