D is for Ducks

Kelby surprised us last week by suggesting that we go feed the ducks on a perfect weather Fall evening. Kanyon is NOT afraid of the ducks, nor does he realize how quickly he could fall into the chilly, stinky water. We have to make sure we are on basically touching him the entire time to make sure he doesn't decide to just walk into the water to greet the ducks.

Daddy and his Mini Me
Here Duckies, Kelby chunking the bread to lure the feathered creatures in...
Kanyon copying Daddy, tossing the bread far away...
This duck cracked me up...that big cotton ball on the back of it's head is quite the fashion statement.
That same duck took a liking to Kanman,
and vice versa. He's making kiss noises at it saying "Mere...Mere Kack Kack!" aka Come Here Quack Quack
Kelby went running while this preggo Mama kept an eye on our little Daredevil, who is determined to do things all by himself. He was getting pretty ticked at me when I would not allow him to simply walk down the slide...little kids just don't have the cause and effect gene enabled yet. He couldn't figure out why mean old Mommy was making him "SIT FIRST!!" with a firm grip on his arm. But after he was safely seated on his rear, he was ecstatic to slide all by himself.
Joy radiating from his chunky cheeked grin.
Like I said...he's growing so fast. He really is looking more un-babyish, like in this photo. Makes me envision him at 5 or 6 years old. Handsome little fella.
