In my search for apple recipes/ideas, I came across tons of websites that had an Apple Smile snack craft.
Only ingredients needed are peanut butter, marshmallows (we only had colored ones), and apples sliced into wedges (supposed to leave the skin on but my toddler needed them peeled and also sliced very thinly).
All you do is spread peanut butter on the straight edges of the wedges (lips & gums), stick on the marshmallows to look like teeth, and arrange in a "smile" on the plate.Place in front of toddler and watch the edible smiles vanish!
Of course, his snack wouldn't be complete without "dip'n-it". The creative snack was a hit, and when we have our pumpkin-carving/painting gathering this year, I'm sure it will be added to the snack table, not only for the funniness of the smiles (which could be named Goblin Grins), but the ease of creating it.
When all the smiles were eaten...they really did vanish...the food smiles & the kid smiles. Kanyon's turned into a frown as soon as his "mo-mellos" & peanut butter were gone. Snack Success!
